HELP University offers its own home-grown LLB programme known as the HELP Bachelor of Laws (Honours) which can be completed entirely at HELP University. The LLB programme is recognised by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board (MLPQB). Graduates of HELP’s LLB programme are eligible to pursue the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP). Graduates who complete the HELP LLB degree will also be granted the opportunity to enrol in selected postgraduate Master’s programmes at the ELM Graduate School.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
Programme Details
- 1 hour of lectures and 1 hour of tutorials per week for each subject with additional of 21 hours of blended learning activities in a long semester (14 weeks)
- 3 hours of workshops per week for a practical subject in a long semester (14 weeks)
- 6 hours of workshops per week for a practical subject in a short semester (7 weeks)
- 3 semesters per academic year with two (2) long semester (14 weeks) and one (1) short semester
Entry Requirements
- MUET Band 4 AND any of the following
- A pass in STPM, with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) in any TWO (2) subjects; or any equivalent qualification; OR
- A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid (good);
- Matriculation/Foundation qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0; Any qualifications equivalent to Diploma (Level 4, MQF); or any equivalent qualification.
- International students are required to have a score of 600 for Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) OR 100 for online TOEFL test OR a score of 6.0 for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) OR its equivalent.
- All results must be obtained in ONE EXAMINATION SITTING as stipulated by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board. A credit in Bahasa Melayu at SPM is required for students intending to practice law in Malaysia as required by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board.

The UK Degree Transfer Programme (Law) enables students to pursue a prestigious law degree at HELP University recognised for transfer to leading partner universities in the United Kingdom. Our prestigious UK partner universities include the University of Manchester, University of Sheffield, School of Oriental & African Studies, London (SOAS), University of Leeds, Cardiff University, University of Liverpool, Aberystwyth University, University of the West of England, Bristol, Northumbria University and the University of Hertfordshire. Upon successful completion of the UK Degree Transfer Programme (Law), students will be able to transfer to our partner universities in the United Kingdom or other universities in the United Kingdom (on a case-to-case basis) to read for an undergraduate LLB (Hons) degree.
An attractive feature of this programme is that students are able to obtain a much sought after UK law degree at an affordable cost, whilst flavouring the UK educational experience. Upon completion of the LLB (Hons) degree in the UK, students who wish to become practising lawyers will have to read for either the UK Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) to gain admission into the English Bar, or pursue the Malaysian Legal Profession’s Qualifying Board’s Certificate in Legal Practice examinations. Alternatively, graduates may also embark on a variety of stimulating career fields, especially in the banking, business, commercial and management sectors, where a law degree is sought after.

- 5 subjects to be completed per year

Ng Juhn Tao
HELP University UK Degree Transfer Programme (UKDTP)
After his Liverpool LLB 1st Class Hons, Juhn Tao, from Sabah, is currently undertaking his CLP exams for a career in legal practice. He acknowledges HELP Law Faculty lecturers for their helpfulness and professionalism and also for preparing students on the soft skills and critical thinking that lawyers need to have, and on the unique “Legal Skills and Practice” module that is useful learning for eventual CLP and UK bar Exams.

Onnelea Dion Sandosm
HELP University UK Degree Transfer Programme (UKDTP)
After completing her UKDTP-Yr 1 at HELP University’s Faculty of Law, Onnelea transferred to the University of Manchester to complete her LLB years 2 and 3 from 2016 to 2018 and graduated in July 2018 with First Class Hons. She was awarded the HELP CEO Scholarship for A-levels (Edexcel) studies with HELP Academy from 2014 to 2015, achieving two As and one A* and was awarded Merit Scholarship for HELP LLB UK Degree Transfer (UKDTP) Programme Year 1 from 2015 to 2016.

Chong Yue Han
HELP University for the LLB-UK Degree Transfer Programme
Yue Han was an active student at HELP and was the HELP Law Society Honorary Treasurer from 2015 to 2016. After graduating with her LKLB 1st class Hons. Belinda is undergoing the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) to be a barrister and practice law. Yue Han says, “I had really amazing lecturers who helped shape me into the person I am today. I enjoyed meeting like-minded people and found life-long friends along the way.”

Christie Liau Hui Min
HELP UNIVERSITY UK DEGREE TRANSFER PROGRAMME (UKDTP)
After completing her UKDTP-Yr 1 and 2 at HELP University’s Faculty of Law, Christie transferred to the University of West of England (UWE) to complete her LLB.
Christie completed her UWE LLB in 2018 and graduated with First Class Hons. She pointed out that she was well-assisted in her learning by HELP tutors and peers as well as colleagues (during the time when she worked with the university).
